On May 13, 2017, Tadia Rice received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor — one of the nation's most renowned awards — presented by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO). Rice was honored alongside Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, film studio executive Sherry Lansing, Chobani creator Hamdi Ulukaya, and journalist Fareed Zakaria, among 90 distinguished honorees.
A keynote speaker, management consultant, and organizational dynamics expert, Rice was recognized for her life-long humanitarian work and her service on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. She has also been invested as a Knight by the philanthropic chivalric Orthodox Order of St. John for her commitment to service.
